Fishy Mosh Pit

Sunday, July 24th, 2005

Here’s Grace at the Atoll Reef at Ocean Park yesterday. The fish are a lot bigger here. Check out that big one behind here. The crazy thing at this reef was the insane amount of pushing and shoving going on by the other folks there. I haven’t been knocked around that bad since jumping in the mosh pit during Soundgarden at Lollapalooza in Alpine Valley. Posted by Picasa

Ice Ice Baby

Saturday, July 23rd, 2005

Last night we went to a Russian Restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong. They have an “Ice Room” that was a big cooler and you drank flavored vodkas. They gave the women fur coats to wear and funny Russian hats to the men. Posted by Picasa

The Negotiater

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

The Sawin Family went to Tai Koo Shing to the City Plaza Shopping Complex. Grace enjoyed the massive ball pit. It was 12 tickets for 15 minutes in the pit but I only had 10. Good to know my negotiating skills translate over here. And by negotiating skills I mean me going “Come oooonnnnn” over and over. Posted by Picasa

Naked Furniture

We still haven’t received our furniture covers so we are still with jet white furniture. Here’s Grace lounging. Posted by Picasa

Impactful Art

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

We received our sea shipment from Chicago and our house is starting take shape. Our bare walls are starting to fill with our old pictures. The first picture to go up front and center is my Chicago banner. Hammer and nail would’nt work on these concrete walls. So I had to buy an impact drill. I’m not sure if I am supposed to be doing that. Posted by Picasa

Amusing Stuff

Sunday, July 3rd, 2005

We went to Ocean Park today. It’s a pretty cool amusement park. It’s divided into two halves and you take this cable car to get from one half to another. Posted by Picasa

Baby Liferaft

Isn’t this the funniest swimsuit… Grace can double as a life raft. Posted by Picasa

Stairmaster

Saturday, July 2nd, 2005

Here’s Jean and Grace walking down Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui (pronounced Chim-Sa-Choy… I think). We were looking for this place called the Teddy Bear Kingdom but when we got there, it was under renovation. Ugh. There are a lot of “subways” here. But “subways” are not subways. They are tunnels under the street so you can cross from one side to the other safely. They are also another opportunity to make you walk up some more stairs. Posted by Picasa
